MCS Academics

Manhattan Catholic Schools is proud of our academic curriculum and the development of our students. Our primary goal for instruction is to provide learning experiences which most effectively inculcate worthwhile attitudes and impart the knowledge and skills necessary for the spiritual, intellectual, emotional and physical development of each student.

MCS utilizes the latest technology in the classroom along with quality curriculum by education leaders like Harcourt, Scott Foresman, Pearson Education, MacMillan/McGraw-Hill and others for age-appropriate learning opportunities for your children.

Our Preschool curriculum for 3- and 4-year olds incorporates play into learning in a loving, cooperative environment.

Online Resources for Parents

MCS supports enriched learning beyond the classroom and recognizes that parents/guardians are a child's greatest teacher. These resources are available to support your child's learning and well-being.

Healthy Kids Challenge encourages families to be active together and support healthy nutrition for a lifelong well-being.

CMG Connect is an online resource to educate children about the healthy use of the Internet, risk factors and create open communication with children about electronics.

STREAM Program

New since the 2016-17 academic year, MCS has instituted a one-of-a-kind STREAM program to enhance learning in four areas: science, technology, engineering and math. Our unique curriculum goes beyond traditional models of creating, building, and problem-solving, giving our students a hands-on approach.

2017-2018 Kansas State Assessment Scores for MCS Grades 3-8 & Iowa Assessments 2-8

Kansas State Assessment Scores 2017-18
MCS performed extremely well on the 2017-18 Kansas Assessments. We just received scores and I am proud of our students and teachers. Compared to the Salina Diocese and the State of Kansas, our students performed exceptionally well. Our students keep Christ in their daily lives and get an outstanding academic education.

If you want your children to be part of a Christ-centered school that excels academically and still provides athletic and academic programs which are comparable or exceeds public education, please call the office for more information about enrolling your child at MCS. Our classes average 16 students per class and our students receive more attention than public school which are averaging over 25 students per class. Check out our scores!

We completed Iowa Assessments for the 2017-2018 school year in September for grades 1-8.  We completed the newly designed electronic testing platform for all grades this year.  The testing went well with the addition of new technology infrastructure from the capital improvements.  New fiber optic cables, technology drops and wireless has improved our instruction and testing immensely.  Purchasing chromebooks for all grade 4-8 students has been awesome!  I can't begin to express the joy we have in the achievement of our students!

The school performed exceptionally well.  The listed percentile ranks below are comparative to schools across the nation that took the Iowa Assessment in the Fall testing period.  School percentile ranks are listed below.  We will raise these scores next year since the students will become more familiar with the testing platform.
