Lunchroom Information
Helpful Tips
- If the student will be late to school, please let the office know by 8:30 AM if the student will need a school lunch.
- Parents are welcome to eat with their children at school. Please let the office know by 8:30 AM if you would like a school meal.
- Food from “fast food” places and pop are not allowed in the cafeteria during lunch. Water or 100% Fruit Juice is encouraged. (Per MCS School Wellness policy).
- Your student’s lunch balance, grades, and teacher information can be viewed in PowerSchool. Once you have access to your parent account in PowerSchool an automated email with your student’s lunch balance will be sent to you when their lunch balance is getting low. To get access to your parent PowerSchool account please stop by the Manhattan Catholic Schools office to get your confidential Access ID and Password.
- We kindly ask parents to keep their student’s lunch account balances positive (or at zero dollars). Once a student's meal account falls below $0 (zero dollars), the Food Service Director will notify parents.
2024-2025 Meal Prices and Charge Policy
Meal Prices
School meal prices will increase by 15 cents for the 2024-2025 school year. Student meal prices have not been raised since 2019. The price adjustment is in response to an increase in food and supply costs as well as a decrease in federal reimbursement. The goal is to operate our school meal program at a break-even point. Every effort will be made to keep prices as low as possible while providing nutritious meals to students. Payments (check preferred) can be deposited in the meal payment box inside the elementary school gym. Please make checks payable to MCS Lunchroom and include the student’s name in the memo. One check can be submitted for all student's in the same family.
