Manhattan Catholic Schools is currently accepting applications for substitute teachers. Please contact the administrative office for details at 785-565-5050. To be considered you must:
1. Complete a Certified Teacher/MCS Application
2. Have teaching or substitute license
3. Interview with the principal for approval
4. Complete CMG "Safe Environment Training," "Establishing Appropriate Boundaries" and background check for Salina Diocese at https://salinadiocese.org/safe-environment

Job Description for K-4 Music/5-8 Band Teacher
- Establish an orderly and engaging classroom focused on Music education.
- Support the mission of Manhattan Catholic Schools in words and actions.
- Teach the K-4 Elementary Music Curriculum following established Music standards.
- Teach recorders and ukuleles to the 4th Grade curriculum.
- Teach instrumental music for all 5th-8th Grade students.
- Teach music-related elective nine-weeks courses for grades 6-8.
- Works with the building principal in selecting music materials for enrichment, recreational use, curricular support, and music appreciation.
- Works with the building principal on curriculum and equipment for the music education program.
- Maintain the music classroom inventory, including the school-owned instruments, including upkeep and maintenance of those instruments.
- Maintain updated gradebooks in PowerSchool for all students.
- Provide reports to parents on student progress.
- Participate in Parent-Teacher Conferences.
- Provides leadership in the planning and execution of individual school concerts and other music performances.
- Coordinates, in cooperation with teachers, the annual MCS Talent Show.
- Participates in local and diocesan in-service workshops with the MCS staff.
- Other duties that may be assigned.
